Who is responsible for our mental health?

In 2024, One Question, in partnership with Social Finance, developing a national campaign to explore the role and responsibility individuals, businesses, and communities play in supporting positive mental health and addressing the causes of mental health crises to reduce the impact on the individual, industry, and wider society and community.

In the Spring of 2022, One Question curated a conversation exploring this Question: who is responsible for our mental health? Inviting corporates, SMEs, the NHS and institutional stakeholders, the conversation surfaced a critical hypothesis that by determining key levers in positive mental health alongside levels of mental health crises, we can develop a framework to explore these levers and create campaigns that evolve language, shift policy and develop personal agency to promote positive mental health, reduce mental health crisis, and the impact on the NHS, business and the community, across regions in the UK.

Piloting in Bristol.

In 2024, One Question, Social Finance, The NHS Bristol, Somerset, North East Gloucestershire, and leading regional organisations and institutions joined forces to pilot our project in Bristol. This year, we are conducting a series of research in business and the community to inform the next phase.

This pilot will become a blueprint for additional regions across the UK as we tailor our approach and lessons to each area.
