Until May of 2018, Fred was VP of Strategy at Sony Music in the UK where he experienced what it is like to be a canary in a digital coal mine and worked to help labels connect artist with the widest possible audiences against the backdrop of an ever-changing world. Before that (and in reverse order) he was a management consultant, an environmental engineer and the lead singer in a punk band. Now freed from corporate shackles, he is pursuing heart and head projects working with a wide range of clients across music, advertising and technology. He will soon be launching his own new breed music company called New Soil focused on working with emergent jazz talent from the UK and beyond. He is Chair of the Abram Wilson Foundation, Advisory Board Member of One Question and Scale Partner at We Are Multiple.
